Walton
High School
is a four-year comprehensive charter high school located in suburban Marietta, Georgia.  Walton High is known for its strong college-prep courses and has been awarded many distinguished awards and accolades throughout the years.  Walton was also 1 of 6 featured "Outstanding American High Schools" out of 96 total by U.S.News & World Report in 1999 because of its high parental involvement and overall high level of achievement.  Additionally, Walton was ranked 109 in Newsweek's 2008 "America's Top Public High Schools" article for the number of Advanced Placement courses taken by students at the school as well as other critical factors.  Walton has also been a Georgia School of Excellence since the program's creation in 1984 and in the same year was recognized as a National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence.

 

There are currently 2,800 students between the grades 9 – 12, which makes this high school the fourth largest in Cobb County.  95% of the high school’s graduating class enrolled into a four-year college following graduation, while the other 5% enroll into a two-year community college program.

 

 

 

Walton high school holds great pride in sports and athlethics.  The high school has won the GADA Dodge AAAAA Athlethic Directors Cup, which is awarded to one school in each GHSA classification whose athletics program has shown the overall best performance.  Since the award's inception in 1999-2000, Walton has received the award 5 of the 10 years it has been given.  Walton high school holds many championship banners for volleyball, tennis, soccer, baseball, and football.

 

As you call tell, Walton High School is a well-rounded, superior high school.  Parents are extremely involved and students take pride in their school.  There is a strong teaching foundation with the support and guidance from teachers.
